Fit to programme

This task has been identified by the working groups as part of the agenda behind WP 1.3.

The task number is 049.

Summary

The HPC Hardware Lab at Durham will be gaining access to a Monaka CPU testbed system, which offers impressive performance for HPC workloads, and also excels at AI inference. We invite proposals to make use of this ARM-based system, explore its performance, document how to use it, and develop experience in compiling and porting codes. Major HPC codes should be suggested for testing, optimising and profiling on this system. This is an open call, and multiple responses may be accepted if they focus on different codes or aspects of the system. More information about the system is given here: https://cosma.readthedocs.io/en/latest/monaka.html

Methodology

Proposals should focus on how they intend to use the system, what benchmarks they will deliver, what codes will be used, and details around code porting, profiling and optimisation efforts.

Outcomes

Documentation for the SHAREing and testbed websites, including user guides and performance results.
