Scoping a Project Management Pathway - Task 029
Fit to programme
This task has been identified by the working groups as part of the agenda behind WP 3.3.
The task number is 029.
Description
As identified in the WP3 meeting, project management is one of the key strands within professional skills and can encompass a number of relevant topics for dRTPs at all levels. This task is currently undertaking a review of the existing project management training landscape in both a general sense and specifically for RSEs. This will include conversations with project management and dRTP peers from Durham, other HEIs and via professional bodies (such as EARMA and PRISM) and will also seek to acknowledge the work being undertaken in other related projects.
Outcomes
THis work will produce a report summarising findings, signposting to current opportunities and gaps. This will include a draft framework for a potential preliminary project management pathway within WP3. The intention is that that will be modular and multiple contributors could develop and deliver workshops to grow this in future. It is aimed to submit a future task proposal for an initial set of introductory online and/or in person workshops informed by this task. Although the scope of this proposal focuses on project management, other professional skills opportunities will also be identified through this piece of work but this will not be comprehensive.
